Long before she became a TV personality, cosplay icon, and online gaming content creator, Myrtle Sarrosa was a regular face at her local Timezone in Iloilo—often found in front of a DrumMania or Dance Dance Revolution machine, fully immersed and in cosplay.
Now, as Timezone Philippines’ first-ever brand ambassador, Sarrosa is stepping back into the spotlight where her passion for gaming first began—right in the arcade.
“DrumMania will always be my favorite,” Sarrosa said. “I’ve spent hours trying to beat my own scores. It’s not just a game, it’s a way to express rhythm and focus. That’s where I felt most like myself.”
From the Arcade Floor to Center Stage
Sarrosa’s deep connection to arcade games shaped not only her skills but also her social life. Her favorite titles—DrumMania, Dance Dance Revolution, Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune, and the rhythm-based maimai DX—served as meeting points with fellow enthusiasts. Over time, what started as casual play became the foundation for lasting friendships.
“I met so many of my closest friends while lining up for turns on DDR or cheering each other during tournaments,” she recalled. “That sense of community is something I still treasure.”
In fact, it was during a casual day at Timezone Iloilo—cosplaying and playing DrumMania—that she was spotted by scouts from Pinoy Big Brother. That chance moment helped launch her career, culminating in her win on Teen Edition 4.
Gaming, Performance, and Confidence
For Sarrosa, the connection between arcade games and personal growth is clear. Games like DDR and DrumMania demand precision, rhythm, and showmanship—qualities that also define her performances on stage and screen.
“Arcade games taught me to be confident in front of a crowd,” she said. “Whether you’re dancing on a DDR pad or singing on stage, you need that rhythm and fearlessness. Timezone helped build that.”
As a content creator, she often features arcade games in her posts—highlighting high scores, cosplay moments, and behind-the-scenes looks at her Timezone visits. Fans respond with their own photos and stories, turning her page into a space for gamers to connect.
Creating New Memories With Timezone
Now representing Timezone as its official brand ambassador, Sarrosa hopes to encourage more people—especially young girls—to enjoy the same kind of fun and friendship she experienced.
“I want to show people that it’s okay to just have fun and be yourself. Whether you're into music games, racing, or claw machines, there’s something here for everyone,” she said.
Her campaign includes:
- Live Events: Myrtle will appear at Timezone branches for gaming showdowns, cosplay meetups, and fan contests.
- Behind-the-Scenes Content: Fans can get a look at her favorite arcade machines and game tips via social media.
- Interactive Promos: Through the Timezone Fun App, users can access promo code MYRTLE for a special Buy-One-Get-One deal—₱500 worth of credits for just ₱250.
A Brand That Grows With Its Gamers
Over the years, Timezone has grown from a traditional arcade into a tech-forward entertainment center. Branches now include karaoke rooms, mini-bowling, VR attractions, and themed party areas—while still keeping core games like DDR and DrumMania alive for long-time fans like Sarrosa.
“Myrtle brings authenticity to this partnership,” said Raffy Prats, President and General Manager of Timezone Philippines. “Her love for classic arcade games resonates with players who grew up with Timezone, while also inviting new gamers to explore what we offer.”
From rhythm games to racing, Sarrosa’s favorite arcade titles are more than just hobbies—they’re a part of who she is. And now, through her ambassadorship, she’s ready to share that joy with even more players across the country.
“Timezone was my happy place growing up—and it still is,” she said. “I hope everyone finds their favorite game, just like I did.”
