Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and legal representatives for former Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez separately moved to dismiss allegations raised in a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on Monday, citing a total lack of documentary evidence and contradictory sworn testimonies.

Senator Lacson clarified that the information currently gathered by the committee fails to reach the evidentiary threshold required to implicate the former Speaker in a controversial property acquisition.

“I repeat hindi ito enough, itong information is not enough to implicate not even implicate the former Speaker. This is just, we may just consider this as a lead kasi mayroong connection but of course dineny naman ni Curlee Discaya so let’s leave it at that,” Lacson stated during the proceedings.

‘Logically and Physically Impossible’ Atty. Ade Fajardo, spokesperson for former Speaker Romualdez, echoed this sentiment, describing the claims as baseless. He pointed out that the testimony of contractor Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya directly debunked the narrative provided by two witnesses, identified by the aliases “Joy” and “Marie.”

“The allegations aired in the Senate are logically and physically impossible,” Fajardo said. “Curlee Discaya testified under oath that he has never entered South Forbes Park, making it impossible for him to have approached anyone there or issued any instruction.”

Under oath, Discaya told the Senate: “Hindi pa kami nakakapasok sa South Forbes Park. Hindi namin alam kung itsura ng mga bahay diyan.” (We haven't even entered South Forbes Park. We don't even know what the houses there look like.)

Absence of Documentary Proof The investigation centers on claims that a businessman acting as a contractor identified Romualdez as a property buyer. However, Atty. Fajardo noted that the accusations trace back solely to the staff of an evicted tenant and lack any supporting documentation.

“The claims come solely from the staff of an evicted tenant, unsupported by any document,” Fajardo said, noting that Romualdez’s name “appears in no deed, contract, or payment record related to the property.”

Fajardo concluded that the record currently leaves the former Speaker with nothing to respond to. “There is no evidence—only hearsay and possibly perjured statements—and therefore nothing to answer,” he added, stressing that conjecture without verifiable records does not amount to proof.

The Senate record currently reflects that no deed of sale, contract, or financial record has been presented to link Romualdez to the South Forbes Park residence, rendering the testimonies as mere "leads" rather than actionable evidence. Bedalyn

Akbayan Representative Perci Cendaña is championing a bill aimed at dismantling barriers for marginalized communities seeking government services. House Bill 11078, also known as the Open Door Policy Act or the Bawal Judgemental Bill, seeks to eliminate discriminatory dress codes in government offices that provide frontline services.

Cendaña argues that these dress codes often exclude the poor and indigenous communities, preventing them from accessing essential services due to their inability to meet arbitrary attire standards.

"Unfortunately, strict dress code policies lead to the exclusion of marginalized communities," Cendaña explained. "We want to remove this judgmental approach towards attire, especially when clothing has no connection to the service being accessed."

Making Government Services Truly Accessible

Under the proposed bill, government offices will no longer be allowed to enforce dress codes for simple transactions unless the prescribed attire is directly relevant to the service. This change aims to foster inclusivity, ensuring that services are available to everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic background.

"Not everyone can afford an ‘outfit check’ just to visit a government office," Cendaña added. "We want these offices to welcome everyone, no matter their financial standing."

If enacted, the Bawal Judgemental Bill will help remove barriers for citizens, enabling them to fully experience government services without fear of discrimination based on their clothing.

A Government Official is alleged to have employed two big personalities from the field of business and politics, unfortunately, they are not for the good of the government but the allegedly "kickback" from the project of the government.

According to our whisperer, the two individual is tasked with a different obligation. The first one is the Collector, he is tasked with negotiating for the money to be collected for the so-called "Boss." He ensures that the collected money will be delivered on time.

While the other one is called the Depositor. He is the one who makes the deposits to the bank account of the high-ranking official.

The alleged transactions, negotiations, and exchange of messages are believed to have happened during June and July this year. There were different conversations about the multi-million transaction or "subi" (cut collection) from a project that is supposed for the poor.

Here's the allege sample of the text messages of the collector, “ Request for P100M para inclusive ang mga cabinets, tables and chairs” at “Sa Friday may check release na si (taga-SUBI) .. pls make sure nalagyan ng P100M ni Boss yung account nya Ty.” This message is allegedly one of the exchanges of messages last June 7, a few weeks before former President Rodrigo Duterte steps down as President.

So, the so-called Collector and Deposit of this Government official a.k.a. "Mr. Silidonyo" is no ordinary individual. It's a tandem of a lawmaker and a businessman.

Allegedly, Collector's image is already badly tainted because of its involvement in different scandals in the government which is why this personality is so "sip-sip" to the present administration to get away from the cases and accusations.

According to our whisperer, the amount collected by the so-called Collector is Php100 million, which is only for the Government Official aka Mr. Silidonyo. It seems that Php100 million is the "trend" in this present administration. 

The so-called Depositor of the collection made by the Collector is allegedly involved in a quarrel between a political family in one of the known cities in the National Capital Region.

The so-called Collector is a lady solon from one of the provinces in the country and the so-called depositor is known for his side jobs or "raket" just like his initial.

But the main blind item is the alleged Government official. Whoever he is, clues can tell.

It was reported that this Government official is being investigated for so many bank accounts under his name, not only in the Philippines but also abroad, and it is considered by the Anti Money Laundering Council.

So, who do you think is this Mr. Silidonyo that comes with a collector and a depositor of the million pesos?

 

The Executive Secretary position or what many often call the "Little President" is considered one of the most powerful positions after the President. Right now, certain people are asking or rather questioning the appointment of the current Executive Secretary. So, why is it being questioned?

Well, here are some of the information about the powers of the so-called "Little President."

1. Implementing presidential directives, orders and decisions;
2. Supervise various agencies under the Office of the President, and appoint officials whose appointments do not need the President’s approval.
3. The Executive Secretary also has the power to sign papers such as executive orders “by authority of the President.”
4. And decide on matters for and on behalf of the President if they don’t require the Chief Executive’s personal attention.

In the entirety of our Philippine Government History, the post of Executive Secretary has been held by distinguished men since it was created in 1936. Lawyer Jorge Vargas, the first Executive Secretary, was appointed by President Manuel Quezon after serving as chief clerk of the Department of Interior and legislative secretary to then-Speaker Sergio Osmeña.

Manuel Roxas, the fifth President of the Philippines, also served as Quezon’s Executive Secretary from December 1941 until March 1942, just a month before he was captured by Japanese forces.

As what most expert says, eExperience is a major consideration in appointing the “Little President.” The Executive Secretary needs to hit the ground running, with barely any time to learn how to navigate the labyrinthine maze of the bureaucracy. Owing to the demands of the job, past Presidents picked Executive Secretaries who had proved their mettle through the posts they’ve held over the years.

ErnestO Maceda, a cum laude graduate of the Ateneo Law School, served as councilor of Manila—and was named Outstanding Councilor— before becoming the youngest Cabinet member of then-President E. Marcos as Secretary of Community Development at 29 years old. He served as Marcos’ Executive Secretary in a concurrent capacity as Chairman of the Commission on Reorganization from July 1969 to February 1970.

Joker Arroyo held the record as the human rights lawyer who handled the most number of cases between 1972 and 1986 before becoming then-President Corazon Aquino’s first Executive Secretary in 1986. Franklin Drilon served as Labor Secretary for three years and Justice Secretary for one year before his appointment as Aquino’s Executive Secretary in 1991.

Teofisto Guingona, who went on to become Vice President under the Arroyo administration, served as senator for six years before his appointment as Executive Secretary. He also chaired the Commission on Audit from 1986 to 1987. Ronaldo Zamora worked under the Marcos and Aquino administrations prior to becoming President Joseph Estrada’s first Executive Secretary from 1998 to 2000.


  The longest serving Executive Secretaries were appointed in the past three administrations: Eduardo Ermita, Paquito Ochoa and Salvador Medialdea held the post for six years under Presidents Gloria Arroyo, Benigno Aquino III and Rodrigo Duterte, respectively. Both Ochoa and Medialdea were lawyers while Ermita was a three-term congressman from Batangas who also handled the national defense portfolio under Arroyo.

Compared to many of his predecessors, Vic Rodriguez’s resume comes up a little bit short.

Accordingly, he was barangay captain of Sacred Heart in Quezon City for 10 years before becoming special assistant to the chief of the Business Permits and Licensing Office in 2002 under then-Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. He later became the officer-in-charge of the city’s Community Relations Office.

Rodriguez’s profile rose when he became spokesperson and chief of staff of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the run up to the 2022 elections. He was named Executive Secretary shortly after Marcos won as President.

The administration’s recent blunders have shown Rodriguez’s ineptness for the job. The appointment of Archipelago Philippines Ferries-FastCat owner Christopher Pastrana as Philippine Ports Authority General Manager has been met with criticism owing to perceived conflict of interest and his company’s supposed P132-million debt to the Department of Transportation.

So far, Pastrana’s appointment remains in limbo. Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista has instead designated a long-serving ports manager to become PPA’s officer-in-charge GM until further notice.

Former Energy chief Raphael Lotilla’s appointment also hit a snag as Malacañang appeared to have been remiss in vetting his credentials. Republic Act 7638 or the Department of Energy Act of 1992 prohibited the appointment of an Energy Secretary who used to be an officer of a private company engaged in the energy industry within two years from his resignation or retirement.

Lotilla, however, was an independent director of Aboitiz Power Corp., and the oil and gas exploration firm ACE Enexor. The Department of Justice later affirmed his nomination as “valid and lawful,” but not after the Palace’s head-scratching clarification that Lotilla’s appointment was a “nomination” for now.

Rodriguez’s hand was also seen in Marcos’ veto of the bill creating the Bulacan Airport City ecozone, which disappointed lawmakers and investors. He claimed there were “defects” that should be remedied by passing an entirely new legislation.

Philippine Star columnist Jarius Bondoc said there’s no one but Rodriguez to blame for the administration’s recent snafus. “From murmurs in Malacañang, Rodriguez had it coming. Supposedly he re-centralized to his office functions formerly dispersed to other units. That made him powerful, if overloaded,” Bondoc said.

Rodriguez has apparently taken upon himself to vet candidates for thousands of presidential appointees. No wonder the announcement of appointments is moving at a snail’s pace, with a number of key vacancies still unfilled.

For all his talk about being close to Marcos, one would think Rodriguez wants nothing more than the administration to succeed. But he seems bent on bringing his principal down, one wrong decision at a time.

 

It's only a few weeks after the inauguration of President Bong Bong Marcos, Jr., but it seems there are officials who are trying to stain the reputation of the PBBM and the government. Already getting greedy for power and money. 

Just recently, many news anchor hinted the public with their programs containing blind item of a certain official in Malacañang of an alleged taking advantage. He was coined as the P100 Million Man, 

According to some bits of information moving around the palace, this person known as El Kapitan of the administration is very close to the President. As per the details of the hearsay, this man is taking advantage of the situation by allegedly extorting money to those individual who would want to get hold of the position in the government that earn more for the government. Accordingly, they wanted that certain offices to be their milking cow.

What's intriguing about the person is that he asks for One Hundred Million Pesos (Ph100M) from people who want to have a position in the government, especially the so-called "juicy position" - these are the positions in government where you can get easy money.

Anyone who can provide the 100 million pesos El Kapitan will personally arrange the papers to get appointed to the preferred position.

What's worse with this El Kapitan or El Kupitan is that he does this even during the election, his modus operandi. Allegedly, all of the transactions with the business owners are the same. It starts with P100M and is even higher if the business owner is well off. All of them allegedly have the same stories.

Allegedly, there was also a story of a business owner who believed to be making his move to be noticed by PBBM by donating a sum of money, unfortunately, El Kupitan gave a bank account number registered to his name.

Now, this business owner doesn't have any idea if the donation reached to where it should given.

Aside from being coined as "Mr. 100 Million Man," El Kupitan was also given another name as "Silidonyo," it is describe as "silid dito, silid doon."

With this, people around PBBM are worried that this person might stain the image of the President and the whole administration.

JV Ejercito "The Good One," running for re-election in the Senatorial seat pushes three (3) priority programs, health care, housing, and the infrastructure. These are what JV plans to accomplish once he is elected as a senator in this coming 2022 Philippine Election.

Last February 15, 2021, an organization called the Philippine Patriotic Movement or PPM held a media conference at one of the restaurants in Quezon City, its goal is to air the call for an alternative Roadmap to National Recovery and to have a Hybrid 2022 National Election. The PPM, a coalition of different sectoral organizations composed of OFWs, jeepney drivers, farmers, urban poor, and other marginalized sectors.

Present during the conference are Mr. Lorenzo "Boots" Cadswan, National President of Filipinos for Peace, Justice and Progress Movement (FPJPM); Cynthia Villarin, National Secretary General of People's Movement Against Poverty (PMAP); Geornel Haresco, Assistance National Secretary of Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines (FEJODAP); David "Dave" Diwa, Labor Leader of National Labor Union (NLU); and Eleuterio "Terry" Tuazon, National President of Philippine Association of Free Labor Union (PAFLU). 

During the media conference, PPM cited some of its main agenda, its priority is the call for aspiring electoral candidates to adapt or have a better National Recovery plan for the country. Indeed our economy is not in its normal state. They even quoted the warning from President Duterte that the 'economy is sinking.' That is why they are pushing for a candidate that will address the National Recovery program. Part of their statement signifies support to candidates who can provide an Alternative Recovery Program for the country.

Accordingly, they will involve different sectoral representatives from government and private workers, the education sector, the health sector, the urban poor, the tourism and transport sector, youth and senior citizen, women and LGBTQ, SME and professionals, and the agricultural sector.

Yes, Mayor Robes will be celebrating his birthday November 6 and the best way for him to celebrate it is to announce the accomplishments and the recognitions that he and the city have been receiving. A thrust of a good leader and a Public Servant.




The event happened during the Flag Raising Ceremony at the front of San Jose Del Monte City Hall. It was a day of celebration.

One of the most highlighted news among the accomplishments and awards received by the city of SJDM was the Seal of Good Local Governance which will be awarded tomorrow.

According to Mayor Robes "All the accomplishment and awards that I received is the award of the whole city because of the effort of Bulaqueños to improve/develop and make the city beautiful and tagging the San Jose Del Monte Bulacan as a Rising City and maybe the next highly urbanize in the country".

One of the reelectionist for senator, Juan Ponce Enrile (JPE), still and will continue to serve the public as he runs again this coming election. When it comes to accomplishments he got plenty of it. Been to and served different offices, Minister of Defense, Acting Minister of Department of Finance, Customs Commissioner, Insurance Commissioner, Minister of the Department of Justice, Congressman in the provice of Cagayan, 4-term Senator and became the Senate President from 2008 to 2013.


Some of the major issues that he addressed during his terms are the right bill charges in our electrictiy bill and about the cellphone load. These have been his fight and will continue to fight for the consumers.

This coming election his major platform is to address the issues of water and electricity bill, the price increases in food commodity, gasoline and other primary needs of the Filipinos.


With his tagline "Gusto ko maging happy ka," he'll continue to make everyone happy with him addressing the issues of every consumers.

I missed going on a field trip. I remember when I was in grade school and until high school I always join school field trips. It was a great experience during my school years. Some of the highlights of the field trips were museums, historical places and food plants (I think) and of course there's always swimming. Those are the wonderful days!


Now, it seems that I'm returning that memories again. Yes, once more I experience the enjoyment of joining tours as me, together with the other bloggers were treated to a tour, a special field trip at the heart of Manila, San Juan City.




We were toured around the city hall and the city. The field trip feels grew more because of the introductions and few talks from the tour guide. Our first tour guide was Mayor Guia who opened the doors of her office to show interesting facts and stories about the city of San Juan. It was really a very informative hour for us and take note we learned more about the city itself.


After the office of Mayor Guia, the next was the office of CEDOC or the Central Emergency and Disaster Operations Center where a huge screen of different monitors displaying the different areas around the city.



The walls in the lobby of the City Hall is painted with three different murals that depicts the past and present of San Juan.

The Pinaglabanan Shrine which is decorated and made beautiful by the fire trees is now a historical landmark to visit.
The El Deposito de Aguas turned museum is once the depository station of potable water the whole Manila area. This is the very first water management system in the country which is design by Palacio. The City Hall, the Shrine and its surrounding area is the entire water management system of El Deposito, unfortunately is now being rebuilt only as a memoir of the once water management system that serve Manila.

The Museo ng Katipunan where you will learn more bits and pieces of history that are not written in textbooks, like what really KKK stands for which Kataastaasang Kagalanggalang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan.

San Juan National High School and Science High School are part of the master plan of having schools in the city developed during the time of its former Mayor Joseph Estrada which is continued by JV Ejercito. Part of its plan also is having a estate college university which the PUP.
The Sunctuario of San Juan del Monte and Santo Kristo and some of the century old churches which is a proof of the people's faith and being religious.

Other places visited were the Old City Hall which now part of the San Juan Medical Center, the old pipeline of the El Deposito, the Entertainment and Recreational Arena for the People, the shopping malls and some old houses that make up the now San Juan City.

It was sort of a treat for us, moms like me this Mother's Day. I am really thankful to Mayor Guia Gomez, the mother or San Juan City for letting us know some important facts, stories and history of the places, happenings and development around the city.


Indeed, Mayor Guia is truly a mother taking care the city and the welfare of her constituents. The roots that SenJV never forget to look back.

The Federation of International Cable TV and Telecommunications Association of the Philippines or FICTAP vyes a seat in the congress to push their program of having a fast internet connection and a free WiFi connection to all Filipinos. Free internet for everyone to equip knowledge in a single click of a finger. They are also pushing the rights concerning the issues in internet, ICT, VAS, Telecommunications, Cable TV, Broadcast and Media.

The organization through its first nominee Estrellita "Neng" Juliano-Tamano, MBA from Cotabato, were able to shed some light in the issues they are pushing during the bloggers conference held in Max's Restaurant in Roxas Blvd.


During the conference FICTAP laid down their programs and explained how it will be resolved. Here are the list of their programs and laws plan to submit.

• "Improved Free Public WiFi Act which aims to make Free WiFi available in the country. 

• Cellphone Users Act, which aims to give benefits and protection for all cellphone users. 

• Custom SIM Card Act, to have a customize SIM card for Senior Citizens, OFW, Student, Teachers and Mothers for discount and other privileges. But this is optional concerning with the data privacy law. 

• Online Sellers, Buyers & Freelancers Act, which target to strengthen and to widen the e-commerce industry in the country and to provide jobs for Pinoys. 

• Anti-Catfish Law, aims to address the problem with posers online with bad intentions.

Cesar 'Chet' Cuneta, son of former Pasay City Mayor Pablo Cuneta wish to continue the legacy of his father as he moves his candidacy as Pasay City Mayor this coming May election. Targeting mainly 3 issues to be addressed in Pasay City, health and hospital, traffic and education, these are the three things needed by the people of Pasay after learning the situation of one of the public hospital in the city.

Currently, Chet Cuneta's tag line is “Bagong Umaga, Pasay Bangon Na!” With his candidacy he'll be waking his fellow Pasayanons with his straighforward work attitude. Like what he does in the airlines he's flying. A more detailed and straight to the point managing system.

Cesar 'Chet' Cuneta is the brother of the Megastar Sharon Cuneta, Chet spent 33 years working as a pilot before being convinced to enter the political arena.

This is my first time to hear the ALIF (Ang Laban ng Indiginong Filipino) Partylist and after hearing their talk and advocacy it made clear to me that indigent Filipinos are those who truly are native of this land, so we should consider ourselves as indigent Filipinos. Making noise in support of "The Good One/ Mr. Health Care", Sen JV Ejercito! Yes, supporters from different parts of the country will stage a motorcade and campaign events simultaneously on May 4, 2019. This dubbed as the "JV Day", which will begin at 8:00 AM.

This is the biggest event that will happen before the election. This is one way of showing support in bringing back the time-tested legislator back in the senate to create more bills that applies in support of every Juan.

We have seen him worked and we have read his accomplishments. To prove is the latest bill that was passed "The Health Care Bill", which was authored to bring the basic health care necessities of the needed Pinoys.
