Gloc-9 is not one to brag about his work because he believes that it should speak for itself. Yet there is no underestimating his 20 years in the music industry, especially since it is not just about being rapper and performer, but also about being a songwriter.

It also is about having struggled to get to this point where he has nothing to prove, and now realizing that he has in fact put in the work and must only compete with himself. “Kung titingnan ko ‘yung 20 years, parang siguro ang biggest lesson ay ang magpatuloy lang do’n sa gusto mo talagang gawing mga kanta. Kasi siyempre maraming kailangan i-consider minsan, pero kung gano’n kasi, baka hindi ka na makakasulat,” he says.

Gloc-9 is not one to plan on writing a hit song, which makes each and every hit song a welcome surprise. What might be most interesting though is that the songs that have become hits are the ones that speak of very distinct issues of nation: LGBT rights, OFWs, poverty, prostitution, corruption. He says:“Na-realize ko rin sa tagal ko na ring nagsusulat ng kanta, na wala naman akong puwedeng isulat na hindi ko naranasan o nakita manlang. Kasi ‘yun ‘yung trigger din sa pagsusulat, na may makita ako, may tanong ako tungkol sa isang bagay.”

This might explain why Gloc-9 hasn’t found the need to follow fads or go for what’s trending in music. He is also not one to deny his age, in fact he finds comfort in it. “Parang mapapaisip ka rin na kung dalawang dekada ka na rito sa business na ‘to, then nadaanan mo na rin siguro ‘yung dinadaanan ngayon ng mga mas batang rapper,” he smiles. “Hindi ko na kailangang makipagsabayan sa kanila, time nila ito.”

Besides, there is enough space for everybody, and Gloc-9 is of the belief that the more rappers there are doing different things, then the better for original Pilipino music and its fans. His focus remains the same as 20 years ago when he himself was a young un-discovered rapper: to make songs that he is proud of, and hopefully put together an album.

On his 20th year of course, a new album is what Gloc-9 does have, and he couldn’t be happier. “Yung Rotonda is an EP na sobrang natuwa ako sa bawat kanta, kasi dumating sa’kin paisa-isa, and parang nung nabuo ko ‘yung lima, sakto siya do’n sa gusto kong i-discuss na mga bagay na hindi ko pa napagusapan sa ibang album.”

In Filipino households, doing the laundry is traditionally seen as a woman's sole responsibility. Thanks to the shift in people's mindsets, aided by Ariel's progressive #JuanWash campaign, that backwards thinking soon be a thing of the past.

Recognizing that chores can be done by anyone, Ariel rolled out the #JuanWash campaign which is targeted towards men. Its goal is straightforward and goes right into the heart of the matter - to get men to do their share of laundry duties, one wash at a time. For Ariel men, this goes beyond simply doing the laundry, as it also shows their support their wives, and moulds their children into understanding the equal role of men and women in doing the household chores.

As the frist detergent to invite men to do their part of the housework, Ariel assembled several celebrity #JuanWash Ambassadors. Among them is professional basketball player JC Intal, supported by his wife Bianca Gonzalez-Intal, as well as actor John Prats, supported by his wife Isabel Oli-Prats.

From the makers of one of Philippine cinema’s iconic drama films “Tanging Yaman” in 2000, comes the story of four estranged siblings thrown back together by their father’s dying wish – to spend their time together in his last “Seven Sundays”.

Directed by one of the industry’s most widely known directors behind the biggest romantic-comedy hits, Cathy Garcia-Molina, “Seven Sundays” gathers some of the finest actors the Philippine entertainment industry has produced: critically acclaimed Ronaldo Valdez, actor-director Dingdong Dantes; teen heartthrob Enrique Gil, multi-talented actress Cristine Reyes, and timeless heartthrob Aga Muhlach to portray the lead roles.

In the story, Valdez is Manuel, is a man who learns of his demise but sees it as a chance to bring his family back together. Muhlach is the eldest son Allan who may not have succeeded in his career but continues to be the family favorite in the eyes his siblings. Dantes is Bryan, the most successful of the family who has resented the fact that despite his success, seems to get the least attention. As they are forced to be together for their father’s last few weeks, the siblings are reminded of the very reasons they fell apart and both comedy and chaos ensue.

Apart from the stellar ensemble, the movie also marks the much-awaited comeback of Muhlach after his last romantic drama “In The Name Of Love” with box office royalty Angel Locsin in 2011.

The movie also marks the nth movie of Dantes, a Star Cinema regular who recently brought in a box office hit via “The Unmarried Wife” together with prime ABS-CBN star Angelica Panganiban in 2016.

All under the helm of Garcia Molina, the stars experience the transformative magic under the blockbuster director. St. Peter Life Plan is not new to me and we, my husband and I, have actually secured our memorial plans. The good thing about St. Peter's life plan it is transferable. Last May 2017 was one of the saddest moment of my life when our father died. St. Peter Life Plan launches the DeathCare Week is a major corporate social responsibility and public service program of St. Peter Chapels that aims to promote awarenedss on Death Care planning and preparation. It is also their way of joining the entire nation in commemorating All Saints and All Souls Day (UNDAS), which are traditionally honored events for Filipinos. This is their 10th year celebation.

FREE PINK TRICYCLE RIDES

As part of the public service offerings this Undas, St. Peter have commissioned tricycle drivers in selected areas nationwide to offer free tricycle rides for commuter going to the cemetery on October 31 and November 1, 2017. They have painted the tricycles in color pink, to keep the spirit light in the midst of Undas traffic.

St. Peter Tents will put up in selected cemeteries nationwide to provide assistance tot he fellow filipinos who will be traditionally spending their evenings at the cemeteries from October 31 to November 1, 2017. The tents will be in color Pink so they easily recognizalbe and noticeable. Free hand fans and umbrellas will also provide as giveaways to cemetery goers who will take picture on Pink Casket and avail the St. Peter products during this period.

THANKSGIVING MASS

In thanksgiving of St. Peter colorful years in the DeathCare Industry, they will have a Eucharistic Celebration on October 29, 2017 (Sunday) at the Talitha Kum Healing mass on TV which will be aired 8:00am in PTV 4 (formerly NBN 4).
