It's been a while since my husband and I watched a heavy drama movie. We always want to watch a romcom or an international movie with less drama at all. Let us admit it, we always want happiness when we took time in watching movies. Our recent movies escapade was a bit out of the usual movie that we watch. I got so curious about the title of the movie which is "12".

The number "12" sticks to my mind this year because for the reason that we will be celebrating our 12th Anniversary this coming December. 12 years of marriage, 12 years of being together. I believed in a longtime relationship. We've been 6 years as Boyfriend Girlfriend before we got married. Whoa take note its been 18 years now that we've been together. Well, I think the secret of our relationship is open communication.
Unlike in the movie "12" which starred by Alessandra de Rossi and Ivan Padilla, their being together from friends to lovers was totaled to 12 and most movies about two people in love always has its audience because of the hope that in the end is going to be a happy ending. In the movie 12 will make things unfolds in a roller coaster ride of emotions that create an impact. This newest VIVA Films presentation showcased a push and pull of feelings that will let you think of what's going to happen in the end.
"12" tells the story of Anton and Erika, a couple who started out as friends for 5 years then became in a relationship for 7 years, making it a total of 12 years of being together. Anton is a commercial director, while Erika is a former band member who becomes his stay-at-home partner, lovingly and happily devoting her time taking care of her man. Finally, the day comes when he asks her to marry him...will they end up getting married and stay together forever?
Fresh form the tremendous success of "Kita Kita", Alessandra De Rossi plays the role of Erika with complete abandon, just like she is knows to do in every performance. This film is an assurance that this award-winning actress really loves her craft despite her statement before about wanting to quit showbiz, which hopefully will not be anytime soon.
Playing Anton is newcomer Ivan Padilla who was seen as Huber, Bela Padilla's boyfriend in "100 Tula Para Kay Stella", another blockbuster hit from VIVA Films. Ivan is related to the famous Padilla actors, but he's excited to show everyone in the Philippines that he deserves to be recognized for his own talent in acting. Just like Alessandra, he asserts that he has really put his heart and soul in playing his character.
The chemistry between Alessandra and Ivan is something to look forward to in this romantic drama that is surely relatable to couples of today. Yah, there is a chemistry between them, they look so natural in acting that seems to be in a true relationship.
The story itself is really an enlightenment to those in a serious relationship, I do relate on the numbers of years that they been together and some issues when they are living together. There's an instance in the scene that they raise the issue, suddenly me and my husband looked to each other and then smiled. Yah, there are so many struggles in life that needs to be faced everyday. But at the end of the day, the two people involved are the ones who will decide what will happen to their lives.

Acting wise of Alessandra is really superb and it really hits the spot, right through the heart. She really acts naturally. She is really versatile, whether comedy or drama she really knows how to act.  While, Ivan Padilla is a revelation, a newbie here in the Philippine cinema and is truly amazing. His acting is above the level.  I think Ivan will have a future here in Philippines movie. Congrats to both of you.
Do watch the movie "12" with your loved ones, and for sure you and your partner will realize something about your relationship. "12" is showing in cinemas nationwide starting November 8, 2017

When it comes to breakfast and other dishes there's always this one ingredient present in our kitchen, the egg. Recently there was this World Egg Day celebration happened and Bounty Fresh, the country’s top egg producer, is taking the lead in promoting the health benefits of consuming eggs daily in the country through various initiatives including spearheading the celebration of World Egg Day this month.

This year’s event will be the onset of Bounty Fresh Eggs’ yearly celebration of World Egg Day. Similar efforts have been done in other countries like Australia, USA, The UK, France, Brazil, Austria and neighboring Asian countries like Vietnam and Indonesia, to name a few.

Was able to have a chance to personally attend the celebration and it was a wonderful experience to learn more about the benefits of eggs. Aside from the health talks, I also tried all the activities in the event. Another take home that I got was the new menu of which I learned during the cooking demo and I find it so easy to do that encourages me to try it at home.
With its state of the art facilities and using healthy feeds on layer hens to ensure high quality eggs, Bounty Fresh has become the Gold Standard in the Philippines as far as eggs are concerned. Given its standing in the industry, Bounty Fresh wants more Filipinos to add eggs into their regular meal because they are affordable sources of protein, vitamins and minerals necessary in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

“We are optimistic that by leading events like the World Egg Day, Filipino consumers will become more familiar with our products, especially the nutrition-enriched Bounty Fresh Eggs,” says Architect Edwin Chen, Managing Director of Bounty Farms, Inc.

“Despite their affordability, the Philippine consumption of eggs is among the lowest in Asia. This is because of the misconception that eggs are bad for the health because of the cholesterol. We want to correct this misconception,” Chen adds.

Architect Chen explains that an egg has 187 mg of cholesterol, way below the recommended limit of 300 mg per day, or only 200 mg if one has diabetes or heart disease. While table eggs may cause mild increases in Total and LDL cholesterol levels, this is not a cause for alarm. Eggs, he adds, consistently raise HDL (the “good”) cholesterol. In fact, studies show that up to three whole eggs per day are perfectly safe for healthy people.
So how does Bounty Fresh achieve high quality eggs? It starts with giving its layer hens the best care and comfort by housing them in environmentally controlled and fully automated houses that are tunnel ventilated. These hens are also given complete vaccination against diseases and are subject to a medication program designed to boost their immune system.
The layer hens are also given the best nutrition formulated by the company’s nutritionist to ensure that it meets the nutrient requirements for body maintenance and optimum production, that is, they can lay the number of eggs expected from their lifetime; with the eggs at the optimum size and covered with high quality egg shells to prevent the entry of bacteria and contaminants; and good quality albumen (white egg) and yolk rich in finest nutrition found on eggs.

Once the eggs are produced, they are brought to storage facilities using a fully automated conveyor. From the chicken house straight to the egg rooms, the eggs are fully secured to make sure that they don’t get in contact with contaminants and bacteria. This procedure will ensure that eggs are fresh and clean, making them safe for human consumption.

At the egg storage facilities, the eggs are then selected and graded by a fully automated computer programmed grading machines. This process ensures that: - Dirty eggs and eggs with cracks or “hairline” cracks that are not visible to the eye are removed when they pass through the so-called “candling area” section of the conveyor. - Eggs are sorted by the machine and not by human hands to prevent contact with contaminants. The eggs are stored in optimum temperature that will ensure freshness and quality of the albumen and yolk. A quality assurance team randomly inspects the eggs to confirm meeting the standard quality that the company has set or fixed.

As attested by credible agencies such as the Food Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), eggs are very good source of affordable, high quality protein. They are rich in vitamins D, B2, B6 and B12, as well as a good source of minerals such as zinc, iron and copper, as well as choline.

Because of the vitamins and minerals found on eggs, consuming them will help strengthen muscles, boost the health of the brain, bolster energy production, promote a healthy immune system, as well as lower the risk of heart diseases mainly because of choline, which helps in breaking down the amino acid homocysteine that is associated with the development of heart diseases.

Eggs are also healthful for pregnancy as the nutrients help prevent congenital disabilities such as spina bifida. Moreover, eggs aid weight loss and maintenance, improve eyesight and promote healthier skin.

I really hope that you, my dear readers, was able to learn something from this blog about the eggs and its benefits. My family loves egg very much and I make sure that I serve them fresh eggs. For more details, visit their facebook account, www,facebook.com/BountyFreshEggs

Horror film fans are in for a treat as one of ABS-CBN’s premier artists, Kim Chiu, stars in Star Cinema’s spine-chilling horror-mystery movie of the season “The Ghost Bride”.
Reuniting with the master filmmaker Chito S. Roño, this is the third time Chiu is going under the helm of Roño after “The Healing” in 2012 and “Etiquette for the Mistresses” in 2015.

“The Ghost Bride”, explores a very different kind of wedding practice of ghost weddings, that is rooted in ancient Chinese culture and tradition.
“Arranged marriage is common sa mga kapatid nating Chinese, but there is darker side of the tradition”, explained Roño. “There are women who are arranged to be married with dead people, which is being discouraged not only by the government but also by the women themselves”.

The movie is centered on the life of Mayen (Chiu) – a girl who will gamble her life to a secret Chinese tradition, upon the advice of the mysterious matchmaker Madame Angie Lao (Alice Dixson), to help her family.

Mayen will enter a bizarre and unfamiliar world where she will have to marry the dead for others to live.

“The Ghost Bride” exposes a myriad of strange practices, both ancient and modern, that continues to affect certain groups of the Filipino-Chinese community, specifically in Manila’s fabled Chinatown district of Binondo.

The film may fall under the horror genre, but Chiu believes it goes beyond that. “Hindi naman siya as in super takutan lang, kasi nando’n ‘yong truth, e, nando’n ‘yong tradition, ‘yong curse, ‘yong kapalit ng ginawa mo (It is not just about scaring people. It also shows truth, tradition, and reminds us that everything we do have consequences.),” she explains.

"The Ghost Bride" also stars Matteo Guidicelli, Christian Bables, Robert Sena, Ina Raymundo, Beverly Salviejo, Isay Alvarez, Nanding Josef, Mon Confiado, Kakai Bautista, Victor Silayan, and Jerome Ponce; and written by Charlson Ong and Cathy Camarillo.

As Mayen goes deeper into the underworld of ghost weddings, she will uncover shocking truths that will put her life in mortal danger. Will Mayen survive the horrors that she will unwittingly unleash in being the dreaded ghost bride?
