It's great when you hear good news, especially when the good news is about helping our fellow Pinoys who have been stranded because of the crisis.  So, the locally stranded individuals (LSIs), currently staying at the Philippine Ports Authority, recently received assistance from the PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF) and TV5 Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. (AKFI) who paid them a visit and advised them on health protocols while distributing snack packs and raincoats.

“We hope to provide some comfort and nourishment to over 200 LSIs patiently waiting at the port area for a ship that could transport them to their respective homes in places such as Basilan, Jolo, Sulu, Cagayan De Oro, Butuan City, Iloilo, Bacolod, and Cebu,” said PSF President Ma. Esther O. Santos.

“Though they are sad and distressed at having to wait for days and weeks in less than ideal conditions, well-meaning people who call on them to see how they’re doing, and the prospect of getting home eventually, lift their spirits,” Santos added.

During their visit, the personnel of PSF and AKFI shared basic information with the LSIs on standard health protocols - like wearing of facial masks, social distancing, and good hygiene - to be observed given the Covid-19 pandemic in our midst. We also listened to their heart-rending stories, said AKFI Executive Director Menchie Silvestre.


LSIs include local workers, students, and other individuals stranded in Manila and nearby areas - most of them enduring the devastating economic effects of the quarantine restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic - who have expressed their intention to go back to their original residence.

"There was a couple who got fired from their jobs and were evicted from their rented room in Laguna. They had no other recourse but to avail of the government’s Balik-Probinsya program, buying two tickets home with the little money they had. There was also a working student who almost choked in tears, thinking of the uncertainty of her situation.” Silvestre explained.

Under the government’s Hatid Tulong program, LSIs will be brought back to their home provinces after coordinating with the relevant local government units and LSI’s having completed health requirements.

AKFI is the social development arm of TV5. A non-stock and non-profit organization established in 2011, it is committed to promote and support humanitarian causes.

Meanwhile, PSF is a non-profit organization that fully serves as the social outreach arm of PLDT, Inc. and its wireless subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. Headed by PLDT and Smart Chairman Manuel V Pangilinan, the PSF created programs focused on education, livelihood and social enterprise, disaster response and recovery, youth arts, and sports development.

PSF and AKFI’s visit to the LSIs is the first of their various outreach activities slated to mark the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Week this month.

Giving thanks to all the frontliners as we go through this challenging times is an inspiring initiative to keep the flame of hope and strength goes on. In recognition of this, children of NutriAsia employees are honoring and further protecting them through their Salamat BayaNAI program.

Launched by Batang NutriAsia, an in-house summer program for children of NutriAsia employees, the Salamat BayaNAI program saw 3,800 face shields assembled and donated to NutriAsia merchandisers and employees for their protection. Despite the risks, these merchandisers served as the company’s front line in ensuring supermarkets and grocery stores remain stocked with NutriAsia products throughout the community quarantine, while employees from departments such as Human Resources, Total Quality Management, R&D, and Supply Chain also continued to report to work on site, making sure that all operations remained consistent throughout the situation.

Face shields were chosen for both their practicality and the protection they impart against COVID-19 and other diseases.

The program also aims to give these employees emotional support, as the Batang NutriAsia kids added heartwarming handwritten thank-you notes to the frontliners.

“We want these frontliners to know that their work is appreciated, and their bravery is not forgotten,” said Sabine Flaminiano, Salamat BayaNAI project lead and a Batang NutriAsia graduate in her own right.

“Seeing the reactions of the store merchandisers and employees as they received our care packages was memorable—as their hard work and sacrifice are valued and recognized, this had brought big smiles and a boost to their morale.”

Anthony shared that he recorded the song in his own home during the quarantine, now he is planning to shoot the MTVsoon. “Pwedeng Tayo,” is a song about what most of the people have gone through  in their life and that can heartbreaks that a lot of us can relate to. Aside from the details about the latest single, Anthony also shared that during the quarantine period he did watched K-drama suchs as Crash Landing on You (I like this one also), King Eternal Monarch, and Itaewon Class. He is also does his regular fitness to keep healthy and guess what he also learned how to cook.

Currently, he is trying to learn dancing and more on acting, he did some intensive acting workshops. He did some roles in GMA like in Magpakailanman, and it seems that he has a potential in acting projects.


Recently, the GMA Artist Center talent was conferred as Most Promising Male Recording Artist of the Year for his debut single “Larawan Mo” under GMA Music at the 51st Box Office Entertainment Awards. The recognition was given by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Inc.

When it comes to comedy, one comedienne comes into mind that brings fun and hilarious antics, the  Comedy Concert Queen, Aiai delas Alas. Just recently, she inks a contract under GMA Artist Center with the same entertaining spirit Comedy Concert Queen Aiai delas Alas continues to display to her loyal fans and supporters.

So to start with, Kyle Velino is one of the actors of ABS CBN Star Magic and he has appeared on some of the TV series and shows of ABS CBN like Maalala Mo Kaya (MMK), Ipaglaban Mo, The Good Son, Play House, and his latest is Killer Bride. It was enough to let him land in one of the characters of Gameboys. Now, he's doing the "Gameboys," which is the talked-about series of this generation, which is something unusual.

For Kyle, he considered being part of the web series a great privilege. This is one of the series that open the doors for many BL stories in the country today.

With COVID, there are plenty of restrictions in the shooting routines that is why, according to Kyle, they were doing the shoot differently. If before, they were doing it on-site with the camera crew, staff, and director, this time it's quite different because all the shootings are on their own. But of course, it is all based on the script and with the guidance of the director online.

According to Kyle, it was hard to play the role of a character who is a villain to the main character. With his inclusion in the Gameboys, it was hard for him at first. Not only with the group but also because of the established fans of the main characters. One meme that is used against him was the "Anti-Terrence Bill." As an actor, he took it lightly because, for him, he's doing his role effectively.

It has been 4 months since the start of the community quarantine in the Philippines. My kids have been confined inside our house for the last 4 months and they haven’t even seen the main street in our area. They haven’t been to any area except our house.


Since my youngest son has his own youtube channel called Playfull Gelo, my husband and I, come up with a new segment for my son’s vlog, it is called the #FFF or Friday Favorite Food.

Playfull Gelo will featuring some of his favorite foods every Friday, we just don’t know if how long will it take before we cover all of his favorite foods but for now his 1st episode will feature foods from his favorite food chain, Jollibee!



We all know kids love Jollibee and by showing this vlog and blog I do hope that this will raise the attention of kids to love their favorite foods. And of course love your own, which means lets love our Pinoy brand, Jollibee!



My son said that he like almost all of the food in Jollibee. He enjoys eating the food like Chicken Joy, Jolly Spaghetti, Jolly Fries, Regular Yum and his new favorite the Shanghai Roll.

Aside from telling all about his favorite food, surprisingly he shared what are his feelings toward this community quarantine. He actually wants to go out and feel the outside world again, especially going to the mall and the place that gives fun to him like Jollibee, he said that in the video.
