A powerful new force has emerged in Philippine primetime as "Beauty Empire" – a groundbreaking collaboration among GMA Network, Viu Philippines, and CreaZion Studios – captivated audiences and outperformed its competitors during its pilot week.

The latest primetime offering from GMA Public Affairs won against rival programs in both Total Philippines and Urban Philippines, based on Nielsen TV Audience Measurement ratings data covering July 7 to 10.

In Total Philippines (PHINTAM), “Beauty Empire” charted an average combined (GMA/GTV) people rating of 4 percent (equivalent to 2.8 million viewers). This is higher compared to the ratings of its competitions, “Sins of the Father,” which only logged an average combined (A2Z/TV5/Kapamilya Channel/Jeepney TV) people rating of 3 percent and “Unchained Love,” with an average combined (A2Z/TV5/Kapamilya Channel) people rating of only 1 percent.

In Urban Phils., “Beauty Empire” registered an average combined (GMA/GTV) people rating of 4.4 percent (1.9 million viewers), still ahead of its rival programs, “Sins of the Father” with only 3.2 percent average combined (A2Z/TV5/Kapamilya Channel/Jeepney TV) people rating and “Unchained Love” with only 1.1 percent average combined (A2Z/TV5/Kapamilya Channel) people rating.

Headlined by Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza as Noreen Alfonso, Kyline Alcantara as Shari De Jesus, and Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez as Velma Imperial, “Beauty Empire" also became the no. 1 show on Viu Philippines during its pilot week on television.

The revenge drama immediately resonated with viewers, drawing them into a high-stakes narrative that delves into the local beauty industry and challenges conventional beauty standards.

With such a promising first week, viewers can’t help but feel excited for the next episodes of the series.

Created by award-winning filmmaker Real Florido and seasoned screenwriter Rona Co of CreaZion Studios Creatives, the series is under the helm of esteemed director Mark Sicat Dela Cruz.

Produced by GMA Public Affairs, “One Hugot Away” brings to life short film love stories made for digital format but will also be shown on television. The series will be available on GMA Network’s Facebook and YouTube accounts while snippets will also be aired on GMA 7 all throughout the day.

For its first offering, “One Hugot Away” will have Kapuso actors Shaira Diaz and David Licauco banner the story of Ella and Ben entitled “Walang Label”.
Ella and Ben have gotten really close spending time together for the past six months. Ella admits they “enjoy” each other’s company. But it boggles her that While Ben shows they are more than friends, he is not consistent with his actions. What will happen once she confronts Ben about the label of their relationship if there is one?

Snippets of this short film will be seen on TV during commercial gaps of Kapuso Movie Festival, Wowowin, and My Golden Life. Netizens, on the other hand, will be able to catch the two-part story at 7 p.m.

But viewers will have to wait until March 28 during the timeslot of My Golden Life to know what will be the ending of Ella and Ben's story. Netizens on the other hand, can watch the finale on March 29 at 12 noon.

The first “One Hugot Away” short film is written by James Estrada and directed by Zig Dulay. The Clash alumna Muriel Lomadilla sang the theme song entitled “Bakit ‘Di Na Lang Tayo” which was composed by Roxanne Fabian and mixed by Andrea Cullla under GMA Post Music Production.
