Upgrading your Maya account usually means having an ID ready. Now, you may be able to do it without one.

Maya is making account upgrades simpler with ID-less verification, which lets eligible users verify their identity without taking a photo of or uploading a physical ID. All you need to start are details you already know, like your name and birthday.

Behind the scenes, Maya checks these details against your National ID records through National ID eVerify, the Philippine Statistics Authority’s identity-verification service. Think fewer things to prepare, less information to fill out, and a more seamless way to get your Maya account upgraded.

Here’s what to expect:

Step 1: No ID on hand? Start with your name and birthday

When prompted, simply enter your name and birthday. Maya will check these against your National ID records through National ID eVerify.

Have your National ID number memorized or saved? You can use that instead. Once your details are successfully verified, there’s no physical ID to photograph or upload.

Step 2: Take a quick video selfie

Next, take a quick video selfie to help confirm your identity. It works together with your National ID verification as part of the identity checks needed to upgrade your account.

Step 3: Fill in only what’s missing

Rather than asking you to enter information that can already be verified, Maya will only ask for additional details if they’re needed.

And that’s it: no digging through your wallet for an ID, no taking a photo of one, and less information to type in.

What happens if Maya can’t verify your information through National ID eVerify? You can simply continue with the regular ID-upload process without having to start over.

The experience may feel lighter on your end, but the necessary safeguards continue behind the scenes. Maya still performs applicable identity verification, screening, and other regulatory checks. AI and automation help handle routine verification work, while cases that need closer attention are routed for human review.

So when it’s time to upgrade your Maya account, you may already have what you need to get started: your name, your birthday, and a quick video selfie. No ID required.

A playful take on bukadkad, the Filipino word that describes a flower in bloom, Bukad takes inspiration from the richness of Philippine nature. Filipino visual artist and illustrator Raxenne Maniquiz brings this to life through her signature colorful illustrations, filling the card with flowers, foliage, wildlife, and little details to discover every time you look.

That connection to nature goes beyond the design. The Maya Bukad Card is made from 100% recycled plastic, bringing more thought not just to how the card looks, but to what it’s made of.

And the Bukad Card isn’t the only Maya card getting a material rethink. Maya has now fully implemented its transition, with all newly produced wallet cards made from 100% recycled plastic. It’s a move away from virgin plastic and toward giving existing materials another life, without changing the security, durability and functionality people expect from their Maya cards.

Of course, the Maya Bukad Card is made to be used as much as it is meant to be noticed. Powered by Visa, it can be used for purchases and ATM withdrawals wherever Visa is accepted around the world. And when you spend locally in the Philippines, you get 1% cashback on all in-store and online purchases.

From Card to Scarf

And if you’re tempted to wear it, you can. For a limited time, the design goes beyond your wallet, too. Raxenne’s nature-inspired illustrations also make their way onto the limited-edition Bukad scarf, bringing the colors and details of the Maya Bukad Card into something you can wear and style your own way.

The limited-edition Bukad scarf will be available exclusively at PURVEYR Fair on September 12–13 at the World Trade Center Tent. Fairgoers who purchase the Maya Bukad Card for PHP 350 can take home a Bukad scarf for free.

Can’t make it to PURVEYR Fair? The special-edition Maya Bukad Card will also be available starting September 9 on the Maya app. To order yours, simply open the Maya app, head to the Cards tab, and order the Maya Bukad Card.

From the Philippine nature that inspired its design to the 100% recycled plastic it’s made from, the Maya Bukad Card brings together Filipino creativity and more conscious design in something you can carry—and use—every day.

When people talk about saving money, they usually talk about numbers: how much they've managed to set aside, how much interest they're earning, how much more they need before they reach their goal. But behind every savings account is usually something much bigger: a long-awaited trip, a child's education, a first home, an emergency fund, or simply the peace of mind that comes from knowing you're financially prepared.

A look at anonymized and aggregated savings data from Maya, the country's leading financial services platform, shows that while financial priorities differ across stages of life, many of the reasons people save are surprisingly universal. Across generations, they aren't simply putting money away—they're building toward the lives they want.

Travel is one of the biggest savings goals

If there was one insight that stood out, it was this: travel isn't just a Gen Z goal. Travel or vacation ranks among the top two savings goals across every generation in Maya’s customer base.

That same behavior is reflected in Maya Personal Goals, where travel is one of the most frequently created savings goals. With users able to create up to five personalized savings goals, many are carving out dedicated funds for everything from overseas adventures to family vacations, while keeping other priorities on track.

Perhaps that's because some of life's biggest milestones aren't things we own, they're moments we remember.

Peace of mind is just as important as life's milestones Travel may be one of the biggest aspirations, but it's far from the only one.

Across generations in Maya’s customer base, savings and emergency funds repeatedly appear among the leading financial priorities, pointing to a shared desire to feel more financially prepared regardless of age. Investments, retirement, and other future-oriented goals also emerge depending on a person’s stage of life.

While people may define financial security differently, the motivation behind it feels surprisingly similar: wanting to feel ready for whatever life brings.

For many people building that financial cushion, Maya Savings offers a way to grow their money while keeping it accessible for both planned milestones and life's unexpected moments. Users can earn up to 15% interest p.a. as their savings continue to grow. Because sometimes the best financial goal isn't buying something new. It's knowing you're prepared if life doesn't go according to plan.

Long-term goals evolve with every stage of life

Although people continue saving throughout their lives, what they're saving for naturally changes differs across generations.

Education, gadgets, travel, and other early-life milestones feature prominently among younger Maya users, while retirement and long-term financial security become more visible among older generations.

Maya offers different ways to save depending on what users are building toward. While Maya Savings helps users grow money they may still need access to, Maya Time Deposit Plus, with rates of up to 6% p.a. and the flexibility to top up funds during the deposit period, has become an increasingly popular way to grow money that's meant for the longer term.

Younger Filipinos are already thinking ahead

One of the more surprising findings is that Millennials, Gen Z, and even Gen Alpha account for the largest groups of active Time Deposit Plus users, suggesting that younger Filipinos aren't simply saving for what's next, they're already setting money aside for the long term.

Older generations, meanwhile, made larger average deposit per transaction, not because they're necessarily better at saving, but because they've had more time to build their financial capacity.

The data suggests that saving isn't defined by age, but by life stage. While financial goals change over time, the habit of preparing for the future remains constant.

If Maya's latest savings insights reveal anything, it's that people rarely save for the sake of saving. They're saving for the first plane ticket they've been dreaming about, for the emergency fund they hope they'll never have to use, for a child's education, for the freedom to upgrade their home, start a business, or simply say yes to opportunities without second-guessing their finances.

In many ways, money is just the means. The real goal has always been the life it helps make possible.

There's something about the middle of the year that makes people reassess everything: the routines they've kept, the goals they've quietly abandoned, and the habits they want to change. Money shouldn't be any different.

Halfway through 2026 isn't just another milestone on the calendar, it's an opportunity to check whether your financial habits are still helping you get where you want to go. Because the smartest financial plans aren't the ones you never change, they're the ones that evolve as life does.

Whether your priorities have shifted or you're simply looking to finish the year stronger, here are six practical ways to give your finances a mid-year reset with Maya, the country's #1 Digital Bank and leading all-in-one fintech platform.

1. Ask yourself if you're still saving for the right goal

One of the biggest misconceptions about financial planning is that your goals should stay the same all year; but life changes. The trip you wanted to take may have become an emergency fund, a gadget can wait while home repairs suddenly take priority, or maybe you've accomplished one goal and it's time to start another.

That's not falling behind. That's adapting. With Maya Personal Goals, users can create up to five personalized savings goals while earning up to 8% interest p.a., making it easier to save separately for everything from travel and emergencies to bigger life milestones.

2. Give your savings a promotion

If your savings account is simply holding your money, it might be worth asking: Could it be doing more?

A mid-year reset isn't just about saving more. It's about making the money you've already saved continue working in the background.

With Maya Savings, users can earn up to 15% interest p.a., credited daily, while keeping their funds accessible whenever they need them.

For money that won't be needed anytime soon, Maya Time Deposit Plus offers another way to grow savings over a fixed period with rates of up to 6% p.a. and the flexibility to top up funds anytime.

Because even small adjustments today can make a meaningful difference by year-end.

3. Make every peso do more than one job

One habit worth carrying into the second half of the year? Getting more value from the spending you're already doing. Whether it's rewards, cashback, or perks, everyday expenses don't have to end once you've paid the bill.

With the Maya Black Credit Card, cardholders earn up to 10x Maya Miles at Maya Black Preferred merchants, while its Visa-powered acceptance makes it easy to use whether you're dining locally or traveling abroad. Those Maya Miles can be redeemed for vouchers for shopping, dining, and more, helping stretch the value of purchases you've already made.

Meanwhile, the Landers Cashback Everywhere Credit Card offers 5% cashback at Landers, 2% cashback on dining, and 1% cashback on most purchases. Cardholders also enjoy a ₱7.00-per-liter fuel discount at Landers-Caltex stations.

4. Don't mistake flexibility for falling behind

Not every financial surprise comes from overspending, sometimes expenses simply arrive all at once: a family celebration, repairs, school-related expenses, or even holiday bookings. Even well-planned budgets can feel stretched when timing doesn't cooperate.

For bigger purchases that you'd rather spread out over time, Maya's Mini Payments feature lets eligible purchases be converted into 3, 6, 9, or 12-month installment plans at a fixed add-on interest rate at 1% per month, with zero processing fees on Mini Payments created until September 30, 2026.

For more unexpected financial needs, Maya Easy Credit offers access to up to ₱50,000, repayable within 30 days. Meanwhile, Maya Personal Loan provides up to ₱400,000 with flexible monthly repayment terms—all within the Maya app and without the usual paperwork or collateral.

5. Don’t let predictable expenses catch you by surprise

Some of the biggest expenses each year aren't actually unexpected, they're simply easy to underestimate.

Holiday shopping, year-end travel, family celebrations, and school-related costs tend to arrive around the same time, putting extra pressure on monthly budgets.

Planning for them doesn't necessarily mean setting aside huge amounts overnight. Giving yourself a few extra months to prepare can make those expenses feel much more manageable when they eventually come around.

For longer-term goals, Maya Time Deposit Plus lets users grow their savings with rates of up to 6% p.a., while offering the flexibility to top up funds anytime, making it easier to prepare today for what's already on the horizon.

Halfway through the year isn't a finish line or a report card. It's simply a chance to pause and ask whether your money is still supporting the life you're trying to build.

Maybe your priorities have changed. Maybe your spending habits have improved. Or maybe the goals you set in January no longer reflect where you are today. That's not a setback, it's part of life.

Just as we regularly reassess our work, our routines, and our personal goals, our finances deserve the same kind of attention. A mid-year reset is an opportunity to make sure your savings, spending, and financial habits still align with what matters most today. After all, there's still half a year left to make meaningful progress. Long before "moneymaxxing" became a trend, dads were already experts at it. They're the ones who compare prices before buying, keep money set aside "just in case," and find ways to make every peso go further. What once felt like classic dad behavior turns out to be surprisingly relevant today.

Here are a few dad-approved ways to moneymaxx with Maya, the country's #1 Digital Bank and leading all-in-one fintech platform.

Some Experiences Are Worth Saying Yes To

Dads have a way of reminding us that value and price aren't always the same thing. The things that matter most are often the moments you remember long after the occasion is over: a family meal, a weekend getaway, or even a trip you've been talking about for months.

For families planning their next trip, the Maya Black Credit Card helps make every journey more rewarding. Cardholders can earn up to 10x Maya Miles at Maya Black Preferred merchants, while its Visa-powered acceptance makes it easy to use whether you're booking flights, paying for accommodations, or exploring a new destination abroad.

To make travel even more comfortable, cardholders also enjoy complimentary quarterly airport lounge access at select local and international airports, helping elevate the experience before the trip even begins.

And for some experiences that may cost a little more than usual, Maya’s Mini Payments feature makes it easier to manage posted Maya Credit Card transactions by converting them into 3, 6, 9, or 12-month installment plans at a fixed 1% monthly interest rate. Even better, Mini Payments created until September 30, 2026 come with zero processing fees.

Because sometimes the best gift isn't another thing, it's time spent together.

Don't Pay Full Price If You Don't Have To

If there's one thing many dads seem universally allergic to, it's paying more than necessary. Whether it's comparing prices, finding a better deal, or taking advantage of a good promo, getting more value from spending has always been part of the playbook.

Today, people have a different name for it: moneymaxxing. The idea is simple: if you're already spending money, why not get something back from it?

Maya Black cardholders can redeem the Maya Miles they've accumulated for vouchers for shopping, dining, and more, helping stretch the value of purchases they've already made.

For those who prefer more immediate savings, the Landers Cashback Everywhere Credit Card offers 5% cashback at Landers, 2% cashback on dining, and 1% cashback on most purchases. And for anyone who refuses to pay full price at the pump, using the card at Landers-Caltex stations comes with a ₱7.00-per-liter discount on gasoline.

Give Something That Can Grow Over Time

If there's one gift many dads appreciate, it's knowing their family is prepared for the future. Instead of another mug, polo shirt, or last-minute purchase, consider giving something that can continue creating value over time. That could mean helping kickstart a travel fund, contributing to an emergency fund, or setting aside money for a future goal.

With Maya Savings, users can earn up to 15% interest p.a. while growing their money. For those saving toward multiple goals, Maya Personal Goals lets users create up to five personalized savings accounts, making it easier to organize funds for different priorities, whether that's a dream trip, an emergency fund, a new gadget, or a major milestone.

And for money that can stay untouched a little longer, Maya Time Deposit Plus offers another way to grow savings over a fixed period, with rates of up to 6% p.a. and the flexibility to top up funds anytime.

Have a Backup Plan for Unexpected Expenses

Dads also know that even the best plans don't always go according to plan. A car repair, a medical expense, or an unexpected bill can appear when you least expect it. That's why flexibility can be just as important as planning.

For short-term funding needs, Maya Easy Credit offers access to up to ₱50,000, repayable within 30 days. For bigger expenses that may require longer repayment terms, Maya Personal Loan offers up to ₱250,000 with flexible monthly payment options—all within the Maya app and without the usual paperwork or collateral.

The Real Dad-Approved Money Move

The funny thing about moneymaxxing is that many of its core ideas aren't actually new. The tools may look different today, but the goal remains surprisingly familiar: making your money work a little harder without losing sight of what matters most.

And that's probably something dads would approve of.

Mother’s Day hits different when you want to go all out but still stay in control of your finances. That’s where moneymaxxing comes in: making every peso work smarter so you can celebrate more, without the after-stress.

With Maya, the country’s #1 Digital Bank and leading all-in-one fintech platform, it’s easier to do just that, so you can enjoy the day without overthinking it later.

If you want it to feel special, don’t start with the price

It’s easy to default to one big, expensive gift, but more often than not, it’s the experience that people remember. A planned lunch, a small but thoughtful present, or even just uninterrupted time together can feel more personal than something rushed or over-the-top.

When you shift the focus this way, your spending starts to feel more intentional, not just bigger.

If you’re going to spend anyway, make it work for you

Mother’s Day spending is going to happen either way, so it helps when it gives something back.

Using the Maya Black Credit Card means your everyday purchases earn Maya Miles, which you can use for shopping, dining, or even travel, so your spends now can turn into something you’ll actually enjoy.

Meanwhile, the Landers Cashback Everywhere Credit Card gives you 5% cashback at Landers, 2% on dining, and 1% on most purchases, making it easier to get more value from the things you were already planning to buy.

And it doesn’t stop at rewards. The more you use Maya for everyday transactions, the more you can boost your interest on Maya Savings, earning you up to 15% per annum, so your money keeps growing while you go about your day.

If timing is the issue, not your budget, adjust for that

Even with the best intentions, expenses don’t always line up neatly with your salary, and that’s usually when things start to feel stressful.

Having something flexible, like Maya Easy Credit , can help you manage those short-term gaps if needed. With access to up to ₱50,000 that you can repay within 30 days, it gives you a way to follow through on your plans without dipping into your savings or worrying about how the rest of the month will look.

And if you’re overthinking it—this part matters most

At the end of the day, what makes Mother’s Day meaningful isn’t how much you spend. It’s the thought behind it, the effort to make the day feel considered, the intention to show appreciation, and the time you choose to spend together. Those are the things that stay.

Moneymaxxing Mother’s Day simply means being thoughtful not just with your plans, but with your money too. So you can celebrate, enjoy the moment, and still feel good about your finances after.

As fuel prices rise and utility costs continue to put pressure on household budgets, many Filipinos are feeling the squeeze of everyday expenses more sharply, not just because things cost more, but because everything seems to come in at once.

Bills don’t always arrive with a warning. A subscription renews, a utility rate adjusts, a weekend plan comes together — and before long, next month’s salary already feels allocated. In moments like this, staying ahead of bills isn’t about cutting out every small comfort or putting your life on hold. It’s about having a system in place, something that helps keep things steady, even as costs shift around you.

As the #1 Digital Bank and leading all-in-one fintech platform in the Philippines, Maya is helping Filipinos move from simply keeping up with their expenses to feeling more on top of them. Here are a few ways people are starting to make that feel more manageable.

1. Build a Buffer and Make It Grow

Bills are predictable. Emergencies aren’t.

The reason people fall behind isn’t always overspending, it’s when an unexpected expense collides with fixed monthly obligations: a repair, a medical bill, a sudden change in plans. Without a buffer, bill money becomes emergency money. And that’s where stress starts.

With Maya Personal Goals, users can create up to five separate savings buckets, whether for upcoming bills, emergencies, or future plans. Each goal earns 4% interest per annum immediately, and every ₱20,000 added increases the rate, reaching up to 8% p.a. on deposits of up to ₱100,000.

That means savings grow while staying organized, reducing the need to rely on credit when something unexpected happens.

For those who prefer added discipline, Time Deposit Plus allows funds to be locked in for 3, 6, or 12 months, earning up to 6% p.a. on deposits of up to ₱1 million per account. With up to five accounts, that’s as much as ₱5 million earning interest.

2. Don’t Romanticize the Swipe, Make It Work for You

Bills don’t usually hurt in the moment, they hurt next month. And spending can feel effortless especially when travel, dining, and “I deserve this” purchases are everywhere. But the real pressure shows up when those swipes roll into minimum payments that eat into future income.

Staying ahead of bills in 2026 isn’t about avoiding credit. It’s about preventing today’s spending from becoming next month’s stress.

Before tapping your card, it helps to pause: Can this be paid in full when the bill arrives? Is this already part of the budget? Used intentionally, the Maya Black Credit Card can make everyday spending feel a little lighter over time. Cardholders earn Maya Miles on all transactions, which can be used to offset future essentials, dining, travel, and other lifestyle costs, turning routine purchases into something you can actually benefit from later. For more everyday expenses, the Landers Cashback Everywhere Credit Card offers cashback across common spend categories, including 1% at Landers Caltex branches, up to 5% at Landers Superstore, 2% on dining, and 1% on other transactions, helping soften the impact of costs that tend to show up month after month. Credit should reward what’s budgeted and not create bills that compete with rent.

3. When You Need to Borrow, Choose Predictability

Sometimes, even with planning, expenses exceed what’s available.

For short-term gaps, Maya Easy Credit provides a revolving credit line of up to ₱30,000, designed to be repaid within up to 30 days. This gives you flexibility to bridge temporary shortfalls while keeping usage and repayment clearly visible inside the app, helping prevent small gaps from turning into uncontrolled balances.

For larger, planned expenses, Maya Personal Loan offers up to ₱250,000 with fixed repayment terms. Knowing exactly how much is due and when reduces uncertainty, and helps avoid balances from slowly piling up month after month.

4. Make Interest Work in Your Favor

Interest can either build your savings or build your stress.

Keeping funds in a Maya Savings account can earn up to 15% per annum, credited daily, helping money grow steadily instead of sitting idle. Over time, that growth strengthens your buffer, making it easier to absorb rising costs without relying on credit.

At the same time, paying credit balances on time prevents finance charges from compounding and adding unnecessary weight to future statements. The goal isn’t just paying what’s due. It’s preventing small balances from becoming long-term burdens.

Dining out. Weekend trips. Occasional upgrades. These don’t have to disappear to stay ahead of bills. But building buffers that grow, using credit strategically, and borrowing with predictability matters. Because staying ahead isn’t about restriction, it’s about making sure next month still feels manageable, even before it even begins.

Saving money usually feels quiet and delayed. You set aside funds and trust that it’ll matter someday. But when nothing feels different right away, it’s easy to forget or stop altogether.

That’s exactly what Maya, the #1 Digital Bank and leading all-in-one fintech platform in the Philippines, is calling out in its latest video starring Julia Barretto and Maris Racal. It’s a wake-up call for Filipinos: your savings can reward you daily — if you put it where it earns.

The Filipino Dream: ‘Masampal ng Pera”

'Let’s be real: every Filipino has joked about it at least once. “Sana masampal ng pera.” Not out of drama, but out of desire. Because money hitting you means money finally showing up.

Maya taps into that very Filipino fantasy and brings it to life through a playful sampalan. In the video, Julia and Maris literally slap each other with money, turning a familiar pop-culture moment into a metaphor for what daily interest feels like when your savings is actually working.

A ‘Sampal’ You’ll Actually Want Every Day

Instead of progress you only notice months later, Maya Savings makes growth immediate. With interest credited daily, your money doesn’t just sit there, it moves consistently and visibly.

That’s the real sampal. Not the painful kind, but the moment you realize your balance is growing day after day. Saving stops feeling passive and starts feeling rewarding, because something is actually happening. v Saving That Hits Different

Julia and Maris show that saving doesn’t have to feel heavy, complicated, or purely long-term. It can be fun, rewarding, and culturally familiar, the kind of saving that slaps, literally and figuratively.

With Maya Savings, users can earn up to 15% interest per annum, credited daily. That daily payout turns saving from something you wait on into something you feel, as your balance grows every day just by using Maya for your everyday transactions.

Once saving feels rewarding, it’s easier to keep going. And for today’s savers, waiting for “someday” isn’t motivating anymore. They want results they can see — and feel — today.

Last year, Maya, the #1 Digital Bank and leading all-in-one fintech platform in the Philippines, changed how people looked at saving, literally. With the world’s first ever Savings Calendar featuring Julia Barretto, Maya turned daily interest earnings into something you could see, track, and feel motivated by.

Now, it’s back, and this time, it’s bigger, bolder, and built for every kind of saver.

Introducing Maya’s 2026 Savings Calendar, featuring three of the country’s biggest stars—Julia Barretto, Maris Racal, and Jericho Rosales—each with their own dedicated calendar layout and striking visual identity. Whether you’re inspired by intention, ambition, or living fully in the moment, there’s a calendar that matches your saving style.

Three Stars. Different Ways to Stay Motivated

With Maya’s 2026 Savings Calendar, you can watch your money grow every day as daily interest builds your balance. No complicated math. Just the confidence of knowing your money is working for you, day after day, month after month.

For Jericho Rosales, saving is about experiences. “You can never bring back time,” he shares. “I make it a point to save for exciting things that I’ll always treasure.” For him, saving isn’t about holding back. It’s about being able to say yes to travel, good food, and moments worth remembering.

Julia Barretto represents the thoughtful planner. She believes in thinking purchases through and making sure money never sits idle. “I plan ahead so I can reach my goals and feel financially secure,” she says. The motivation comes from seeing steady progress and knowing each day brings her closer to what she’s building.

Then there’s Maris Racal, the goal-driven saver. From new spaces to new ventures, her savings journey is fueled by ambition and inspiration. “I feel happy and motivated because it’s so easy to see my money grow every day,” she says. That daily visibility turns saving into something intentional, not limiting.

Different priorities, different mindsets, same realization: saving feels better when you can actually see it working.

Why Seeing Your Money Grow Changes Everything

There’s power in visibility. When growth is something you can actually see, saving stops feeling abstract and starts feeling personal.

With up to 15% per annum credited daily, Maya Savings makes progress feel real. No waiting, no guesswork. Just small wins adding up.

Maya also offers tools that make saving feel structured without feeling restrictive. With Maya Personal Goals, you can create up to five goals, whether it’s travel, gadgets, emergency funds, or celebrations, and earn 4% p.a. right away, with the potential to grow your rate up to 8% p.a. There are no lock-ups or penalties. For longer-term commitments, Time Deposit Plus lets you lock in your savings for 3, 6, or 12 months with rates of up to 6% p.a.

It’s not about having a perfect system. It’s about starting, staying consistent, and feeling encouraged along the way. Because once you get used to seeing your money grow every day, saving stops feeling like something you should do. It becomes something you actually want to keep doing.

And just like Echo, Julia, and Maris, no matter what you’re saving for, whether it’s experiences, long-term security, or big personal goals, the point is the same: saving works best when it fits your life and lets you see your progress as it happens.
