"SA NGALAN NG AMA, INA, AT MGA ANAK", an interesting movie that shows family ties and bond, not only that but it also depicts patriotism.

During the blog conference I get to know more of the couple, Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla.  They were able to give us a glimpse about the story and how it runs through for three years.  Yes, according to Robin the film was three years in the making.  It took them time to get the Padilla clan's schedule jive with each other.

Robin Padilla shares that the making the movie was really hard.  He even shares that the movie was put into life with the intention of seeking some folklore stories in the south and what he gets was a story of a guy named "Ongkoy" and his family who is up to now very well known in Ozamis.  Just like most of Robin's past movies who plays a Robinhood character, the said personality in the movie is said to be the Robinhood of that local place.

Honestly, I didn't know the exact meaning of the name "Kuratong Baleleng" except that it was the name of the group this past few years.  "Kuratong Baleleng" or Darling Bell is a bell used in the past to signal town's people that there's a danger coming forth.  According Robin, which he explained it much clearer, kuratong is a male term whike the baleleng is a female term and both are needed to make a sound that's why it is called Darling Bell.

Family ties were the main thrust of the movie. The bond of the family. And as evident of that is how they were able to put the Padilla clan together in this action-packed family drama of the year. Also the love for the country were also present.

The movie "SA NGALAN NG AMA, INA, AT MGA ANAK is about Ongkoy, played by Robin Padilla, who was once the leader of the very first incarnation of the anti-vigilante group 'Kuratong Baleleng' thatgained much notoriety in the City of Ozamis amidst the political turmoil that the city was going through in the 70's. With his radical views on politics and governance helped redefine patriotism in the Philippines and to that heis regarded as the "Robinhood" of Mindanao.

Lead by by the action superstar, Robin padilla, who just won the Best Actor award for his stirring performance in 10,000 Hours in the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF)  ABS CBN's Primetime Teen King Daniel Padilla (whose successful MMFF entry Pagpag was named as the highest-grossing horror flick of the history of the annual festival) on the other hand gives a fine dispkay of his versatility as one of the country's most promising young actors as he embarks on the genre of action for the very time.  It should be noted that this is the very first big screen collaboration between Robin and Daniel.

This groundbreaking film also boasts of powerful and unforgettable performances by the beautiful TV host and actress Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, two of GMA 7's top teleserye stars Kylie and Bella Padilla, and young actors RJ Padilla and Matt Padilla.

Also included in this movie are Christopher De Leon, Dina Bonnevie, Rommel Padilla, Karla Estrada, Pen Medina, Lito Pimentel, Dennis Padilla, Aljur Abrenica, and Bugoy Carino.  SA NGALAN NG AMA, INA, AT MGA ANAK is showing in cinemas starting January 29.   This is film is still part of Star Cinema's on-going 20th aniversary celebration.
