Lovers in Azalea Baguio, An AfterSummer Gateaway

7/19/2015 08:49:00 PM

It's been a decade since I went to Baguio together with my ex-Boyfriend who's very much in love with me, now my husband. It was 2004 that we decided to spent an after summer getaway before we got married in the year 2005.
Gladly before we celebrate our 10th year Anniversary this coming December, Azalea Residences gave us an opportunity to have an exciting experience, an after summer group getaway in Baguio. So excited that me and my hubby filed a leave of absence in our respective offices, packed all our things, asked my parents to stay in our house with the kids, and presto we travelled all the way to Baguio.
It's been a while, since we travelled just the two of us. Ever since the kids came to our life we always do out of town with our kids. This time, though with a group, It will be a we-time for us. Happy to be with my hubby as we rode through JoyBus, it was our first time, a great experience of none stop bus ride, no stop over at all.
After 4hours of travel, we reached our destination, Baguio. After a few minutes, the two good looking guys on coat and tie fetched us at the terminal and brought us to Azalea Residences. By the way, the two guys are Paul and JC, who will be our tour guide for the rest of our stay at Azalea and thats according to them. The first meeting with them sure made us, bloggers, well entertained and accommodated.
Reaching the Azalea Residences gave us a warm welcome together with a drink which was so sweet, a welcome drinks to quench the thirst. It only shows their warm hospitality assuring that guest will be taken care of. They gave us our designated rooms, though I will not spent one room with my hubby, since this travel was dubbed as an #aftersummer #groupgetaway at #BaguioCity specifically at #AzaleaBaguio. No problem at all, because my roomies, Ms. Jing and Jenny, we knew each other and Marco as well. Marco was very welcome in our room, hahaha.
Were so excited, checked out our room, decided which room to choose since it has 2 bedrooms. Jenny stayed in the small room while Ms. Jing and I shared in the bigger room. Our Photographer, my hubby, gave us a shot in our room together with my roomies.
After a while, they let us tour outside Azalea, since our first activity will at that night, dinner with acquaintance party. We visited the Mt. Cloud first, a small bookstore that caters most of local authors. My hubby who loves reading books gave himself a tour inside Mt. Cloud, Yes, I'm his photographer now, hahaha.
After Mt. Cloud, we spent our Afternoon at Hill Station. My hubby and I looked like we're dating. My roomies, Jenny and Ms. Jing, took some photos of us in some parts of Hill Station. Aside that, we took selfies as well. We love taking pictures together, the memories that we shared will be treasured in our whole life.

Dinner is served at Cafe Yagam. Ms. Debbie, Marketing Manager of Azalea Residences, gave us an opening remarks and some details of our stay at Cafe Yagam, dinner and acquaintance party. She introduced the owner of Cafe Yagam, Ms. Carla.

Ms. Carla gave us an overview of Cafe Yagam, and introduced some of the dishes that were served during our dinner. She said the food was served to the very important person that visited Cafe Yagam. A special delicacies from people of Cordillera.

Here are the foods;
The Pinikpikan which is more likely of Tinola but much more with exotic taste.
The Pinuneg which is the blood sausage.
The Binungor which is made up of different vegetables with a strong kick of spiciness.
The Kiniing which is a smoke meat part of a pig.
The Kiniwar which the sweet delicacy.
The Tapuy or rice wine.
My hubby is very adventurous, he loves to taste exotic food. Imagine that was our first time to taste those food, no leftover on his plate at all. I love pinikpikan, thinking how they did it before it was served but for these people it is a part of their tradition and culture.

After our dinner, the acquaintance party follows, getting to know each other. The Azalea team prepared this activity for us and to get acquainted with the rest of the participants. They gave us a small piece of paper with an image and we need to locate the other half . He or she will be our partner in a small presentation.
I found my partner, Martin Andrade, a funny and hyper guy. Ms. Debbie instructed us to prepare a song, dance or whatever performance as long as it reflects who We are, the performance that will explain our personalities.

At first, we did not know how will turned out, but with the help of Ms. Jing who gave us a gyst of what kind of performance, we dedided to do a tinikling, a filipino dance.
When Ms. Debbie asked for anyone to volunteer there were some who eagerly move first and did their thing. For my partner Martin who's very hyper, voluntered our duo and perform our piece which is the tinikling dance. I'm a shy type of person and him with full of energy, this is it.

We danced tinikling and Martin explained that we did it because were Filipinos, that's all.
Different performaces happened and at the end Ms. Debbie explained that they will choose among the performances who showed the essence of the activity.

After those activities, it was time for us to take a rest and sleep because, it will be along day for us on our 2nd day, a day full of activities.
Just like what I said Azalea people are so sweet and as we were inside our room they got sweet treats for us.

I'm so tired, actually I slept first according to my roomies, my hubby visited me in my room but infortunately I'm asleep already. He did not tried to wake me up, he just waited and expected for me to wake but that didn't happen as I'm already in dreamland.

That was my first day, watch out for my blog stories about my 2nd Day, a very memorable and full of excitement the whole day.
