It's July once more and it's Buddy Run again. It is one of the runs that my family is waiting for every year, because this is the only time that we're bonding in a fun run.



My kids really enjoyed it every year, even my eldest wants to try the 10km already. But this year it's a no run moment, because of so much blessings from above, "the rain". We just joined the warm up, still we weren't able to join the run because the fact that it's raining and we don't want to get wet that much, plus it's that early in the morning.

The 11th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run kicked off at the parade grounds of Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City with different types of running pairs, parents and kids, siblings, lolos and their apos, loved ones, officemates, best friends, even neighbors-competing in the 5K and 10K races.
"We are happy to provide an opportunity for people to start their wellness journey in a fun and one-of-a-kind event with their partners. After all, getting fit and choosing the healthier lifestyle is more worthwhile when shared with a buddy," said Jody Gadia, Robinsons Supermarket General Manager.

Presented by Robinsons Supermarket, the 11th Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run 5K race offered a top prize of a trip for 2 to Siargao with 3 days/2 nights hotel accommodation while 2nd and 3rd placers get Php8,000.00 worth of Robinsons gift certificates. For 10k race podium finishers, the top prize includes a trip for 2 to Hong Kong with 3 days/2 nights hotel accommodation while 2nd and 3rd placers get Php15,000.00 worth of Robinsons Gift Certificates. Unfortunately and because of the heavy rain, equipment used during the run were shut off to avoid any accidents. Meaning to equipment to capture the time, it is just all fun run under the rain.

After crossing the finish line with their buddies and celebrating fitness in a fun and exciting way, most of the participants also enjoyed exciting activity booths and took home big grocery loot bags that have been the trademark of the Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run through the years.

Yah, we enjoyed the booths specially the purefoods booth because of the hotdog and the other like tocino, the drinks and the oatmeal.

The loot bags contained lots of freebies from Nestle, Johnson & Johnson, Wyeth Nutrition, Abbott Nutrition, Fonterra and Unilab.

Still, Robinsons give out the loot bags even to those who did not run. This is a very generous event. Though the rain did not stop, but we end up with a smile going home because of the freebies that we got.

Hopefully by next year we will join again this run on their 12th year and we can also run. I love seeing my boys enjoying every moment with us.
