Silver Valley Farms Ltd. of British Columbia, Canada, recently announced its expansion to Southeast Asia for their frozen fruits and smoothie packs. The frozen fruits’ sweet taste, high antioxidant content, and excellent quality have made them a favorite among culinary enthusiasts and health-conscious individuals. Silver Valley Farms Ltd. frozen fruits, particularly the company’s Snowcrest frozen fruit products and Boom smoothies packs, are now in the Philippines through a partnership with Landers Superstore.

Established more than 30 years ago as a family farm in scenic Maple Ridge, BC, Canada, the company has flourished to be one of Canada’s leading growers, buyers and distributors of frozen blueberries. It supplies to retailers in Canada and the US. In recent years, its products have also reached Japan, Korea and Dubai. In addition to blueberries, Silver Valley Farms is able to supply other fruits grown from neighboring farms, as well as partner farms.

“The Southeast Asian market is a growing sector,” said Silver Valley Farms General Manager Ray Biln. “We feel our products will be a good fit in this particular region.”

Blueberries are commonly commercially grown in continents where there are cooler climates like Northern America and Europe; and not as much in Asia, making them a novelty in the Asian region. Canada is known to supply two varieties of blueberries – the high bush and the low bush variants, the latter more popularly referred to as “wild blueberries.”

“Fresh blueberries are in season from July to September,” stated Biln. “For frozen, it’s available year-round for all our customers,” he reiterated.

The wish to nurture more customers, as well as the growers that are already under their care, is what keeps Silver Valley Farms motivated to keep growing. Biln said, “Farming blueberries is awesome. It’s such a healthy product. But it’s more than just blueberries. It’s more than just agriculture. It’s really about the people.”
