SM Hypermarket's Master Chefs 2013 Barangay Cooking Challenge

Hi Foodies and Mommies, here's another cooking challenge that we'll definitely enjoy and make our food preparation delicious and affordable at the same time. We Filipinos love cooking, I know because I cook for my family and it makes me very happy when my husband and kids liked what I cooked for them.

So for those who loves to cook here is a challenge that I know mommies and also cooking enthusiasts will try to join. It's the Master Chefs 2013 Baranggay Cooking Challenge! It was launched last September 5, 2013 to mark the start of cooking competitions to be held in all 37 SM Hypermarkets nationwide. The Barangay Cooking Idol introduces something new. It is a competition open not only to anyone who cooks well but also to those with talents too, so meaning cooking and talent is a must. Those who aspire to become Master Chefs must incorporate a routine that wows the crowd. They could sing, dance, act, anything amazing is welcome. At the end of it all, Master Chefs 2013 will introduce a new breed of super chefs that are not only exemplary cooks but also talented individuals.

As SM Hypermarket's tradition of bringing great opportunities, cooks within the Barangay will get a chance to show their talent and their cooking skills. This is what mommies and daddies are waiting for a time to shine in cooking. Great Filipino cooking is not just found in restaurants and hotels but also in residences, carinderias and eateries where people regularly eat.

On its 7th year, Master Chefs 2013 will also reinvent the Pinoy's all time favorites; adobo, sinigang, pochero, kare kare, chopsuey, caldereta, menudo, pinakbet and in the process, discover new ways of cooking the Master Brands. Master Chefs will creatively put new twists in the food products people have learned to enjoy like Nestle All-purpose Cream, Maggi Magic Sarap and Maggie Savor, CDO FUntastyk, Idol Cheesedog, Bibbo Hotdog, and Ulamburger, Bounty Fresh Gourmet Chicken and Nuggets, Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdogs, Stuffed Nuggets and Chicken Drummets and Unilever Knorr Soups and ready Mixes.

Master Chef 2013 was launched at SM Hypermarket cubao and was hosted by none other than Papa Dan of 97.1 Barangay LS and Monica Verallo of Unang Hirit. The Master brands and their reputable chefs Chef Paolo Sia, Chef Kris Alcedo, and Master Chefs 2013 ambassador, Chef Hasset Go were there and showed more exciting ways of mixing up their signature products.

Chef Hasset Go the new Ambassador of SM Master Chefs 2013 owns and manages Medchef Homemade Cakes, Patries and Desserts and Xin Chao Vietnamese restaurant. I am very honored that I tried eating on both restaurants of Chef Hasset. He is really a hands on Chef and he always make sure to that he is serving delicious food. He is so nice, also to us, his blogger friends, and he informs us every time he has new ventures. So being an Ambassador for SM Master Chefs 2013 fits to him and he is always willing to share his knowledge and skills.

The crowd during the launch have their chance to learn more techniques on all the Chefs present. Most of the Chefs, they prepared simple yet delicious food, they focuses on the easiest way to prepared cooked food with those products listed above. Aside from the cooking demo, there were lots of fun games for the audiences and most of them bring home cool prizes. Of course, the event would not be complete without great food tasting. It was a truly a culinary event highlighting the barangay's cooking talents, a food fest no Filipino can ever say no to.
