It's great that in some way I was able to enjoy and learn things in the north as my husband works in Pampanga. He did introduced things and foods that I haven't tasted or heard about. Though there are really some that I would definitely not try. It was just in time that a few days ago I was able to visit one of the malls in Pampanga in which I haven't been to. I was invited to a media launch of the upcoming food festival. It is a sneak peek of the event happening this week in Marquee Mall which is dubbed as "Big Bite! The Northern Food Festival."

So what's in store for people who will be joining Big Bite! The Northern Food Festival?  Well, before anything else, first, the said event is presented by Marquee Mall, Ayala Mall's premier destination for shopping, leisure and entertainment in the province of Pampanga and in partnership with different agencies, namely Department of Tourism, Department of Trade and Industry, Angeles Tourism Office, North Luzon Expressway, Bank of the Philippine Islands and Lifestyle Network. There are plenty of gastronomic dishes and activities to expect. It's going to be a mouthwatering festivity.

This three-day event of Big Bite promises great delicious delicacies and savoring dishes. There will be cooking demos, food art, free food samples, live entertainment and a whole lot more. It will be a festivity to expect.

Food lovers and enthusiasts can get a hold of regional products in just one venue as 100 plus more food merchants from Region I, II, III and the Cordillera Region lined p in the food market at Big Bite festivity. Choices from condiments, spices, coffees and jams, to local favorites such as Ilocos empanada, Vigan longanisa, bagnet, puto calasiao and more. This all can be a great pasalubong for your love ones and friends.

Aside from the local food delicacies that each region has to offer Big Bite is also giving credit to the growing street food industry. They'll be giving an additional aisle in the festival ground to enjoy these street food delights like the ice scramble, strawberry taho, binatog and sorbetes.

Angeles City has indeed marked the entire world with its contribution to Philippine cuisine. New York Times hailed Sisig as one of the best pork dish. Sisig is celebrated in the province for more than 40 years and according to Chef Mel Galang or Tita Mel's trivia, who is a Kapampangan, the term Sisig comes from the expression 'mangisig' which is caused by the mixtures of the flavor in every spoon of sisig. Chef Mel and Chef Sau made a cooking demonstration of sisig during the media launch.

During the sneak peek Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan welcomed the guests and media and furthermore invited everyone to come into the festivity itself and experience what the province of Pampanga and the whole Northern Luzon has to offer. Of course Angeles City is the place where Sisig is born so expect the festivity of Sisig.

What more to expect at Big Bite! the Northern Food Festival? Well here's list....
  • Art installation by award-winning artist Leeroy New and the Pampanga Arts Guild
  • Cooking demonstration from Chef Sandy Daza of Foodprints and the lively Chef Sharwin Tee of Curiosity Got the Chef.
  • The Big Buffet promo, where Marquee Mall shoppers can get feee food samples for a minimum Php1,000 purchase from any Marquee Mall merchant.
So, come and celebrate this biggest gastronomical festival in Marquee Mall's Big Bite! The Northern Food Festival.
