The Philippines is now on the part where its people will have to pick one among the Presidential candidates and this marks another climax in Philippine history. Who will be the next president? This is going to be a new administration for the entire country and we all must have a keen observation on all the aspiring presidents since this government is for the people, by the people and of the people. We need to “Vote Wisely” to have a good leader for this country.
One of the aspiring leaders of this country who wants to have a change is Tito Boy Syjuco and he's running for President. I got an opportunity to meet and interview this Former Iloilo reperesentatinve and Techinical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General. Augusto Syjuco Jr or popularly known as “Tito Boboy” was born on December 11, 1942 and just like any other Filipino during the 2nd World War their lives was threatened. During the meeting we were able to know him more through the webisodes that they have created to convey his life story, his achievements, and his aspiration. It was entitled “Binuhay Ako Nang Dahil Sayo” it is his story and it shows how difficult life can be but it also shows that there are plenty of reasons to be alive and living.
According to him and as what he exclaimed during the meet up that he is the 'most qualified” among all presidential aspirants. “I have served my country exceptionally well. I do not know any presidential candidate who could equal my experience” Tito Boboy Syjuco added. And to attest to that claim he has indeed garnered a lot of achievements and recognitions. Here are some of his achievements.
  • Cum Laude – Bachelor of Business Administration (BSBA) at the University of the East in 1963
  • Topnotch during his Grade School days in Ateneo De Manila, Philippines
  • Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA, Master of Business Administration (MBA Earned Degree) in 1964

  • He earned his degree Master of Organization Development at Southeast Asia Interdisciplinary Development Institute (SAIDI) in 2007.

  • He is a legislator as well, Syjuco authored the law on absentee voting and dual citizenship, and during his TESDA term, more than eight million scholarship opportunities were awarded.
  • He also executed the ladderized education system.
  • Member and Director General of TESDA
  • Twice elected as Congressman/Representative for the Second District of Iloilo, in May 1998 and May 2001.
  • Appointed by President Fidel V. Ramos as Member, Board of Directors, Development Ban of the Philippines, effective July 3, 1992, concurrently.
  • Chairman, Development of the Philippines Management Corporation
  • Elected Vice President, 1971 Constitutional Convention
  • Principal Author and Sponsor of the 1971 Constitution's Article 13 Accountability of Public Officers, Sandigan Bayan (Anti-Graft Court), and Tanodbayan (Ombudsman) which were also adopted by the 1986 Constitutional Commission.
  • A member, Laban ng Masang Pilipino (LAMP), Mid 1998, Chairman, LAKAS NUCD, UMDP KAMPI, 2nd District of Iloilo, early 1998,
  • Member of Manila and Cebu Polo Club, Competitor
  • Philippine Shooting Team with competed in the International World Shooting Championships at Thun, Switzerland, 1974.

Not really sure if it is because of the people Tito Boboy Syjuco met are online people he made an introduction of launching the movement that will urge the government to facilitate a fast internet speed for the country which is called Augment Broadband Speed (ABS). Our country got the slowest internet speed so by God's grace with this movement we'll have a faster internet connection on the coming years.

Also and since my father and my in-laws are already a pensioner I was glad that Tito Boboy Syjuco shared his thoughts and the reason why President Aquino didn't signed the Php2,000 increase for the Social Security System (SSS) pensioners. In what I have grasped of all the details about the finances of SSS. Tito Boboy Syjuco made a clear statement that President Aquino didn't signed the increase because if he does that SSS will went bankrupt and if the next leader of the country will not do something about it the next 32 million workers will be cut-off from SSS pensioners.

This made me understand what is happening and made me think more of the next president to be. For this coming 2016 election let us all think over, study and know the candidate we are voting. Think until you don't have any more reason not to vote for the aspiring presidentials.
